Chair of UOC Synodal Military Department Greets Administration and Students of Academic Research Institute for Criminalists and Investigation Officers’ Training on Foundation Anniversary

The Academic Research Institute for Criminalists and Investigation Officers’ Training of the Kyiv National University of Internal Affairs marked its 24th foundation anniversary by the church solemnities on December 2.

At the invitation of the institute administration it was attended by the Chair of the Synodal Department of the UOC for Relations with the Armed Forces and Other Military Agencies of Ukraine Archbishop Augustine of Lviv and Halych, his deputy, rector of the Church of Epiphany at the Kyiv National University of Internal Affairs, Rev.Vitaly Prukhodko and Chair of the Synodal Department for Pastoral Care of the Penitentiary System Rev. Victor Yatsenko.

Among the official events scheduled for that day the two are a result of cooperation of the University and the Synodal Military Department. First, before the line of the cadets the rite of blessing of the Institute standard that had become a combat flag of this subdivision, since the internal affairs officers are always ready to defend our Motherland together with the Armed Forces.

Vladyka Augustine called the law-enforcement officers to perform worthily their service, so that no action blemished the Institute’s flag honor. Secondly, in the territory of the Institute the primary works on the construction of the Church of the Nativity of John the Baptizer, the Prophet of God were completed. The same day the blessing of the dome cross of the church was performed, upon completion of which every cadet and officer came up to the cross and gave it a kiss of veneration. The blessed cross was installed on the dome of the church to the singing of the students of the Kyiv Theological Academy.
