“Interpretation of Parables from the Gospel”
3/10/13
With blessings from His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, the Publication Department of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin published the explanatory Chrestomathy of the Armenian literature entitled “Interpretation of Parables from the Gospel”. The editor of the Chrestomathy is Lilit Hovsepyan.
This text includes excerpts of interpretation of Gospel parables from as early as the15th century, which were taken from both handwritten and printed copies. The current explanatory Chrestomathy will be helpful for solving the problematic issues concerning the parables and interpretations. The book will also provide the opportunity to highlight the traditional and transitional in the explanatory literal tradition and separately, the manifestations of individual theories of each author.
The book comprises 37 titles, which are filled with parables cited from the Gospel of Matthew. There are also fragments from the Gospel of Luke, from Gospel of Mark and only two extracts from the Gospel of Johann.
The work was published by the sponsorship of the benefactor of the Mother See Mr. Gabriel Chemperchyan.
