MOSCOW – Patriarch Irinej of the Serbian Orthodox Church (SPC) visited the Jefimija Business Centre owned by Braca Karic company in Moscow, BK Group released, Tanjug reported.
The SPC patriarch backed the Karic family in their economic struggle in the times of the difficult global crisis in which, despite all the hardships, they are employing thousands of workers, BK Group released on Tuesday.
Patriarch Irinej met with one of the founders of BK Group Dragomir Karic and noted that there are few companies that promote Serbia’s history, culture and tradition outside Serbia’s borders, primarily in Russia.
He expressed gratitude to the Karic family over the fact that although far from Serbia, they are still fighting for the survival of Kosovo holy sites, especially the Monastery of the Patriarchate of Pec.
Dragomir Karic stated that BK Group would continue fighting for the SPC heritage in Kosovo-Metohija and would do all it can to ensure that business contacts and co-existence of Albanians and Serbs are set up as soon as possible.
The delegation headed by Patriarch Irinej also comprised Metropolitan Amfilohije of Montenegro and the Littoral and bishops of the Serbian and Russian Orthodox Churches, and the meeting was attended by Serbian Ambassador in the Russian Federation Slavenko Terzic.
The patriarch visited the Jefimija Business Centre to mark the 40th anniversary of the constitution of the first family company in former Yugoslavia and the 30th anniversary of the constitution of the first Soviet-Yugoslav factory for bread production equipment and flesh processing machines.
