On Thursday, the 28th of March, His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir visited the monastery of Capriana, participating at the conference of priests and presbyteresses of Straseni church circumscription.

The event was moderated by Straseni church district dean, Mitred Archpriest Victor Mihalachi, who made a presentation with the topic The mission of erudite, pious, and wise priest, in the work of obedience and confession of faith through spiritual gifts”

A number of priests delivered speeches about the place and role of the servant of the Holy Altar in contemporary society, and about compulsory knowledge that every priest should have in order to be useful for the faithful flock and perform consciously his pastoral mission.

Talking to the audience, His Eminence Vladimir expressed high appreciation of this meeting, especially because it is held during Great Lent, when the soul feels special need for spiritual consolidation and guidance. At the same time, the hierarch gave advice to the priests and their wives that may help them be models in the experience of obedience and confession of the faith in true Christian living.

After the conference, His Eminence Vladimir had a very dynamic discussion with the clergy of the church circumscription, inquiring about the current situation, catechetic activity, collaboration with education institutions, preparing for the Feast of the Resurrection of the Lord and for the 200th anniversary of the foundation of Chisinau and Hotin Diocese.

The district dean, on behalf of the priests, reported to the Hierarch about the current situation in the church circumscription, and made due notes for the improvement of the activity in useful terms.

Later the elder monk of the Monastery, Archimandrite Filaret (Cuzmin) conducted His Eminence Vladimir in an inspection of Capriana Monastery, to report about the situation of restoration works in the most important ecclesiastic objectives. They made a stop for a remembrance moment at the burial of our great ancestor – Metropolitan Gavriil Banulescu Bodoni.
