LAYING OF THE FOUNDATION STONE OF YET ANOTHER CLINIC IN KENYA BY HIS BEATITUDE
His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, laid the foundation stone for a new clinic to be named “Agios Theodoros”, in the grounds of the beautiful church of Ss Raphael , Irene and Nicholas in the Kiamaina area, just outside of the town Nakuru, 150km from Nairobi in Kenya .
The ceremony was modest, but also very essential for the residents of the area, who warmly welcomed the Alexandrian Primate, expressing great joy in songs and dances both in and outside of the church.
The Patriarch of Alexandria spoke to those present about the importance given by the Orthodox Church to medical assistance for our African brothers and sisters and their general needs for life. “I foresee the creation of a great Christian centre in the area”, said His Beatitude, thanking His Eminence Metropolitan Makarios and the priests of the Patriarchate for their contribution to the missionary efforts of the Alexandrian Church.
It is to be noted that, in the Metropolis of Kenya, adjacent to every church, which number over 200, the local Metropolitan and his predecessors, have seen to the creation of a school and a clinic, , for the support of the local population. There, health care is given, and great emphasis is placed on information concerning AIDS.
During the same day, the Primate of the Second throne Patriarchate, together with the Metropolitan of Kenya, went to the Parish Community of the Resurrection of the Lord, in the same area. Visiting the stone-constructed church, His Beatitude Theodoros spoke to the people who had gathered to hear him, about the message of the Resurrection which is the Church itself, our faith itself, as he said.
The church of the resurrection of the Lord was inaugurated by the late Patriarch Petros and the present Archbishop of Albania, Anastasios.
His Beatitude lastly visited the church of the Theotokos of Kapatini, where he symbolically planted an olive tree, the symbol of peace, praying that peace would prevail throughout the universe.

I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She put the shell to her ear and screamed.
