His Beatitude Metropolitan Volodymyr Conferred Church Distinctions on UOC Delegation Accompanying Pochayiv Theotokos Icon in Moscow

On November 16 the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church at his residence at the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra received the official delegation of our Church that accompanied the Wonderworking Pochayiv Icon of the Mother of God during its visit to Moscow on November 4-15 this year.
The Archpastor thanked the guests for their work and conferred the church distinctions on them. In particular, the orders of the Holy Hierarch Dimitry (Tuptalo), Metropolitan of Rostov were conferred on His Grace Bishop Hilary of Makariv and the co-workers of the Department for External Church Relations of the UOC, and the jubilee orders of the “450 Years of Bringing Pochayiv Theotokos Icon to Volyn” were granted to the brethren of the Holy Dormition Pochayiv Lavra and the nuns of the St. Michael Horodok Convent.
Before the beginning of the ceremony those attending sang a troparion to the Most Holy Theotokos and prayerfully bowed to the Wonderworking Pochayiv Icon of the Mother of God, which stayed at the session hall of the Holy Synod of the UOC all that time.
