International Theology Congress Dedicated to St. Basil the Great

November 4, 2009, the International Theology Congress dedicated to St. Basil the Great will conclude. The event, which debuted on November 1, unfolds at the Patriarchate’s Palace in Bucharest and is organized by the Romanian Patriarchate and the Patriarch Justinian Faculty of Orthodox Theology, as part of the special events dedicated to the year 2009 – the Memorial Year of St. Basil the Great and of All Cappadocian Saints in the Romanian Patriarchate. The sister Churches of Constantinople, Greece and Russia were represented by hierarchs. Most Rev. John Zizioulas, Metropolitan of Pergamon, represents the Ecumenical Patriarchate, while Most Rev. Paul, Metropolitan of Riazan and Cosimo, represents the Russian Orthodox Church and Most Rev. Hierotheos, Metropolitan of Nafpaktos and Aghios Vlasios represents the Orthodox Church of Greece.
The book Eucharist, Bishop, Church: The Unity of the Church in the Divine Eucharist and the Bishop During the First Three Centuries, by His Eminence John Zizioulas of Pergamon, was launched yesterday in its Romanian translation as part of the schedule. Yesterday, November 3, the Congress unfolded at the Romanian Academy, in the presence of His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel.
