Thousands of faithful gathered today in the Plaza of the Patriarchal Cathedral to attend the Holy Liturgy celebrated for Holy Martyr Demetrios the Myrrh-streamer. The Holy Liturgy was celebrated by dozens of bishops led by Most Rev. Michael, Orthodox Archbishop of Vienna, the representative of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople. His Excellency has addressed a sermon to those present, underlining the virtues of St. Demetrios, martyred in the 3rd century for his faith in Jesus Christ.
