The 5th Annual Orthodox Doxology Day is a gathering and a participation of different Orthodox churches with love which is the greatest truth for a praise day. This event is a humble effort is to unite the Orthodox congregations using the language of heaven – hymns and praises. In the past years the event has had the blessing of the Russian, Syrian, Serbian, Armenian, Antiochian, Syriac, Ukrainian, and Ethiopian churches’ participation. It was truly a reflection of Orthodox Unity.

The event began with a Divine Liturgy then a brunch which was graciously prepared by the hosting St. Peter & Paul Coptic Church. A great array of delicious food and sweets was served by their very kind Ladies Organization. Choir members from the various churches greeted one another as many met for the first time as well as others who have developed friendships from previous years in this event. Following the brunch, everyone gathered in the church as choir by choir presented their election of hymns they chanted. Every choir group beautifully sung as everyone listened joyfully to the variety of Orthodox hymns. After the choir presentations, a bazaar was held in the social hall where people can buy various religious items as well as sweets.

From the Syriac Church, the St. Ephraim Choir and the St. Peter Sunday School Choir chanted hymns in our Aramaic language. The St. Ephraim Cathedral choir sung beautiful hymns and was led by Rev. Fr. Louis Yacoub. A selection of 4 hymns was beautifully sung by the St. Ephraim choir with the lyric translation displayed on the screen for everyone to understand. The St. Peter Sunday School Choir was next, and they chanted 2 hymns in our Aramaic language. Dominic Allaf spoke about the group’s first time participating in the event and the joy felt amongst the Orthodox churches.

We thank the hosting church, St. Peter & Paul, for all the graciousness and preparations for this wonderful event. May God bless everyone who participated.
