NEW INDIAN ORTHODOX CONGREGATION AT WOLLONGONG, SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA

In commemoration of the Feast of St George, the St Thomas Indian orthodox CathedralSydney started another new congregation at Wollongong, South of Sydney on 28th April 2012.

The new congregation was named “St George Indian Orthodox Congregation” after St George ,the Saint The first Holy Qurbana of the congregation was celebrated by Rev Fr Thomas Varghese, Vicar, St. Thomas Indian Orthodox Cathedral and attended by various members of the Cathedral along with members of the Wollongong community, at the residence of John Thomas at 13/19 Atchison Street, Wollongong.

The Divine Liturgy will be celebrated every month at nearby church in Wollongong. The new congregation will satisfy a long felt need of the International student community of the Indian Orthodox Faith Studying at the University of Wollongong.
