The Week of Prayer at the Patriarchate
Romanian Church
27/1/2012
The Week of Prayer for Christian Unity ended on 25 January 2012, in Bucharest, with the religious service celebrated at the Patriarchal Cathedral. Representatives of several Christian churches and confessions and delegates of the state institutes attended the Vespers together with the faithful of the capital city of the country.
The religious service was celebrated by His Grace Ciprian Campineanul, Assistant Bishop to the Patriarch, together with a group of priests and deacons.
Present in the Cathedral, the Patriarch of Romania, His Beatitude Daniel delivered the sermon.
“While relating the mystery of the resurrection from the soul of the death of sins to the mystery of the universal resurrection we have the hope to meet Jesus Christ, our Saviour, on the way, who said so nicely” “I stay at the door and knock. And if somebody opens and receives Me he will sit together with me on the throne”, which represents the joy of communion and peace of constancy in our relation with God”, explained His Beatitude, as Trinitas Television channel informs us.
This year, the Scriptural fragment chosen as theme of meditation of the Week of Prayer was from Epistle 1 Corinthians 15:51: “We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed!”.
