Saint Nicholas In The Middle Of The Children At The Patriarchal Palace

8/12/2011

The cultural artistic show entitled “Saint Nicholas in the middle of the children” took place in “Patriarch Teoctist” Aula Magna of the Patriarchal Palace.

As Trinitas Radio station informs us, to end with, the Patriarch of Romania thanked the children for the artistic way in which they understood to convey God’s mercy and love to those around them.

“It is a very significant fact that whenever an idea is artistically expressed, not only by memorizing, it remains deeply rooted in their souls. This is why the carols sung tonight were completed with artistic scenes performed in various colours, gestures, short reflections, but essential to convey the message of kindness and generosity”.

The show gathered over 500 children from the Archdiocese of Bucharest, who participated in the camps of Christian creation within the educational project “Choose School!”. The event was organised by the Department for Education and Youth Activity of the Archdiocese of Bucharest in collaboration with the parishes within the Deaneries I, II and III Capital and with the support of the Methodist Religion professors from Bucharest. This is its third edition.

The manifestation began with the opening of the exhibition entitled “Sparkle of Light” in Europa Christiana Hall of the Patriarchal Palace. The items exhibited have been made by children from all over the country and consist in drawings, paintings, wooden and glass icons, collages and essays.

To start with, His Grace Ciprian Campineanul, Assistant Bishop to the Patriarch delivered a blessing speech.

“Such an event is an encouragement and a confirmation of the fact that we have very gifted children who can use their energy under the blessing and supervision of church, cultivate their gifts or talents that every child has when he comes into the world”.

This was the second edition of the event organised by the Theological Educational Department of the Romanian Patriarchate.
