Film ‘Nun’ got Grand Prix at Russia Documentary Festival

It is produced by the studio at the Orthodox Elisavetinsky female monastery. For 5 years it has produced more than 10 films, many are recognized far outside of the country.

By Inna Pilevich: Novices and nuns are directors, assistants, make-up artists. About thirty persons create films at the Minsk Video Studio named after Saint Confessor John the Soldier at the Saint-Elisavetinsky female monastery.

The video studio was first in the history of the domestic cinematography to shot the orthodox feature film ‘Parables’. The film was highly appreciated not only in Belarus. Now it is among the finalists of the festival ‘Religion Today’ in Trenta, Italy. Now a sequel is being filmed.

The new part, as well as the first one, will include three short stories. The plots for the stories are based on the orthodox spiritual heritage.
