Extremist Jews Break into an Islamic and a Christian Cemetery in Jaffa

On Friday night, a group of Jewish extremists broke into both Islamic and Christian cemeteries in the city of Jaffa, destroying them and writing anti-Arab and Muslim slogans on their walls, the Palestine News & Information Agency (WAFA) reported.

Residents of Jaffa heading to the Islamic cemetery, stated that the Jews had destroyed their graveyard, and written humiliating slogans on the walls. They added that the group also broke into an orthodox cemetery near al-Kazakhana, and destroyed some of the graves their too.

The Sheikh, Ibrahim Sarsour, an official in charge of the Arab Unity movement in the city of Jaffa, condemned the ongoing Israeli attacks against the Islamic holy sites that have become a continuing problem, operating under the noses of the Israeli police. He added that the police have not yet caught any of the Jewish criminals accused of committing these crimes against the Arab and Muslim population of Jaffa.

He sent word to the Israeli Prime Minister, Binyamin Netanyahu; Israeli President, Shimon Peres; and Israeli Interior Security Minister, Ohronovic. He wrote that the Arabs and Muslims have not yet recovered from their latest choke, caused by the attack and burning of the al-Nour Mosque in the village of Toba Zanghriyya on October 4th. He claims that the attack was supported, directly or indirectly, under the auspices of Israeli officials and media parties.

Sarsour added that this support led the extremists to dare to attack the historic cemetery of al-Kazakhanah in the city of Jaffa, and demolish several graves.

“I am not shocked about an attack on a Muslim holy site, only a few days after the burning of a mosque. There is an explicit trend towards a growing extremism, in the harassment and attacking of Muslims and Arabs,” said the Sheikh. “The Israeli police and security forces are being negligent and biased towards their protection of them.”
