Orthodox Summer Camp for Children from Chicago to start on Thursday August 20, 2009

Sts. Constantine and Helen Romanian Orthodox Cathedral in Chicago announces the first edition of the Orthodox Summer Camp for the Children of the Cathedral which will be held during August 20-23, 2009 at the Rainbow Christian Camp, Converse, IN.
The camp’s theme for this year is The Mother of God in the iconography. The camp’s program includes children’s participation at daily services, workshops of icon painting on glass, psaltic music, reading and opens discussions, sportive activities such as swimming, volley-ball, football and short trips around the countryside.
His Eminence Archbishop Nicolae and Rev. Hieromonk Andrei Aioanei, Cathedral Priest will participate. This is a new initiative for the Children of Sts. Constantine and Helen Cathedral in Chicago. The organizers are the Professors at the Cathedral Sunday School directed by Mrs. Violeta Vancea.
