The Graduates Of The Orthodox Faculty Of Theology Of Bucharest Swore In The Oath Of Allegiance

On 30 June 2011, 244 of this year series of graduates of the Faculty of Orthodox Theology of “Patriarch Justinian” of Bucharest swore in the oath of allegiance. The event took place at the Metropolitan Cathedral of Saint Spiridon in the presence of His Beatitude Daniel, Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church. The feast began with the Divine Liturgy, followed by a Te Deum celebrated by His Grace Varlaam Ploieşteanul, assisted both by the rev. professors of this educational institution and by deacons.

The Patriarch of Romania spoke in the sermon delivered about the importance of the call they must have in society.

“Let us cultivate the idea that we have been loved by God even if we did not deserve it, because otherwise He would not have called us to mission. Secondly, having been missionaries, we must pray for the help of God when faced with difficulties. The bigger difficulties in mission the more help we must ask from Christ. God never sends man trials bigger than he can endure, certainly together with Christ, not alone. The difficulties are first secularisation, secondly poverty, thirdly migration, and diminishing of our communities in the country. The missionary must be a spiritual man, and organise solidarity not only between rich and poor. The issue of migration is a great trial for us”, said His Beatitude, as Trinitas Radio station.

The Rev. professors of the Faculty of Orthodox Theology of Bucharest, the graduates’ parents, as well as their friends attended the event.
