President Of The Hellenic Republic On A Visit To The Romanian Patriarchate
The Press Office of the Romanian Patriarchate informs us:
On 28 June 2011, His Beatitude Daniel, Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church received at the Patriarchal Palace, His Excellency Mr. Karolos Papoulias, President of the Hellenic Republic, who was paying an official visit to Romania.
The Patriarch of Romania emphasised the traditional relations of friendship between the two peoples, Greek and Romanian, and conveyed a fraternal message to His Beatitude Ieronim II, Archbishop of Athens and all Greece.
The President of the Hellenic Republic conveyed a fraternal salute on behalf of the Archbishop of Athens and pointed out the involvement of the Church of Greece in aiding those affected by the economical crisis, as well as her role in maintaining the cohesion and unity of the Hellenic people.
His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel emphasised the importance of keeping the spiritual richness of the two peoples in order to overcome the economical crisis and appreciated the need to intensify the cooperation between the Churches and peoples of the two countries for promoting the Orthodox values in the united Europe.
