Memory of killed Bulgarian soldiers commemorated abroad, too (ROUNDUP)

May 6 a Day of Valour and Bulgarian Army has been marked abroad, too. Flowers and wreaths have been laid at the Bulgarian military graveyard in Novo Selo, Macedonia, as well as at the monuments of the Bulgarian soldiers in Romania and Serbia.

. Bulgarian Finance Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Simeon Dyankov is to attend a ceremony in the Bulgarian military cemetery in Vukovar, Eastern Croatia, on the occasion of the Day of Valour and Bulgarian Army, which his country celebrates on May 6, the press centre of the Finance Ministry announced.

The minister will meet with the community of Banat Bulgarians in the village of Ivanovo, Serbia. The Banat Bulgarians are a minority group who settled down in the 18th century in the geographical and historical region of Banat, today divided among three countries – Romania, Serbia and Hungary.

While touring the region, Simeon Dyankov will hold meetings with Bulgarian communities in Serbia, Croatia and Albania.

On May 7, Saturday, the minister will visit a Bulgarian church in Zagreb and confer with Bulgarians there and later with Bulgarian community in the city of Zadar, on the Adriatic Sea.
On May 9, Monday, Simeon Dyankov will pay a visit to Tirana and meet with Bulgarian community in Albania.

About 500 people have arrived in Zograf Monastery on Mount Athos on its holiday, Saint George Day, which falls on May 6, monk Metodiy, secretary of Zograf Monastery, told FOCUS News Agency.

A vigil was held during the night. Politicians, bishops and many friends of ours have arrived, he added.

The Bulgarian political delegation in Zograf Monastery is comprised of Agriculture and Food Minister Miroslav Naydenov, Ataka leader Volen Siderov and MPs.
