Romanian Church
1/5/2011
The new church of Lainici Monastery dedicated to the “Healing Spring” and to “Saint Pious Irodion” was consecrated this morning by His Beatitude Daniel, Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church, assisted by an impressing group of hierarchs, members of the Holy Synod of the Romanian Orthodox Church, priests and deacons in the presence of thousands of faithful.
To end with, His Beatitude Daniel delivered a sermon in which he showed the importance of the consecration of a place of worship in the life of the faithful.
“It was with God’s grace that we celebrated the consecration service of this church dedicated to the “Healing Spring” and to “Saint Pious Irodion from Lainici”. This church is very beautiful, grandiose and it shows the beauty of the soul of the faithful and first of all of the community of this monastery. His Eminence Metropolitan Irineu had today’s consecrating service of the church monastery of Lainici Monastery painted and in the end of the Divine Liturgy we will also have the proclamation of the canonisation of Pious Irodion, former abbot of Lainici Monastery. As already known, it is only on the consecration day of the church that all the faithful, men and women alike can enter the Holy Altar on the Northern door and kiss the Holy Gospel, Holy Cross and Holy Table, the right hand corner of the Holy Table where the image of Saint John the Evangelist is. We pray the Holy Trinity to deify our life and renew it, to adorn it, just as this new beautiful church was. We pray for God’s help to make us become temples of the Holy Spirit too”, said His Beatitude, as Trinitas Radio station informs us.
