His Beatitude Volodymyr participated in the International conference “World religions and civil society united against hatred and extremism”

On March 28 in the grand-hall “Sophiyivskyy” of the Premier-Palace (Kyiv, Taras Shevchenko blvd 5-7/29) the International conference “World religions and civil society against extremism and hatred” was held.
Taking part in the forum also was Metropolitan Volodymyr of Kyiv and All Ukraine. Also His Beatitude Patriarch Theophilos was one of the conference participants.
Before the plenary session began, His Beatitude Volodymyr addressed organizers and participants of the conference with a greeting word.
The Ukrainian Orthodox Church was also presented by the chief of the UOC administration archbishop Metrophanes of Bila Tserkva and Bohuslav, rector of the Kyiv Theological Academy Archbishop Anthony of Boryspil, deputy chairman of the DECR of the UOC Archbishop Alexander of Preyaslav-Khmelnytskyy, Vicar of the Kyiv Metropolis of the UOC Bishop Ilary of Makariv.
Taking part in the religious conference were religious leaders, scholars and experts from the USA, Great Britain, Izraeli, Russia, Norway, leaders and representatives of the religious communities and confessions of Ukraine.
In the course of forum’s work the issues of tolerant coexistence of different religions in the modern world and the role of religions in the global transformations, as well as wide range of problems of opposing extremism and intolerance were considered.
