Dean Panteleimona Arathumos Ordained New Chancellor of Alexandria

The ordainment of Dean Panteleimona Arathumos, as the new Chancellor of the Patriarchate of Alexandria and of all Africa, was announced today by the Archbishop of the Orthodox Church in Africa, Theodore B.
The new Chancellor was born in Tinos in 1974. He is a graduate of the Theology Department in the Theological School of the University of Athens and a graduate of the French Institute of Athens. In 2000 was ordained as a deacon and in 2001 as premier-archimandrite from the Metropolitan of Syros, Dorotheos. He speaks English, French and Italian.
In October 2006, after an invitation from the Patriarch of Alexandria, he left the Holy Synod of the Greek Church and from that Patriarchate, where he was patriarchal director of Developmental Labors, manager of the Website and Internet Office, scribe of the Holy Synod and director of the special patriarchal office. In addition, he is a member of the Patriarchal Committee of European Issues.
