His Eminence Andrei Andreicuţ Is The New Metropolitan Of Cluj, Alba, Crişana and Maramureş
THE PRESS OFFICE OF THE ROMANIAN PATRIARCHATE informs us:
On 18 March 2011, the Holy Synod of the Romanian Orthodox Church met in working session in the Synodal Room at the Patriarchal Residence, under the presidency of His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel and elected by ballot, with 29 votes out of 46 expressed, His Eminence Andrei Andreicuţ for the vacant dignity of Archbishop of Vad, Feleac and Cluj and Metropolitan of Cluj, Alba, Crişana and Maramureş. His Grace Irineu Bistriţeanul, Assistant Bishop to the Archdiocese of Vad, Feleac and Cluj got 17 votes.
The enthronement ceremony of the new Metropolitan of Cluj, Alba, Crişana and Maramureş will be celebrated by His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel, in the Metropolitan Cathedral dedicated to the Falling Asleep of the Mother of God, of Cluj-Napoca, on 25 March 2011, on the Annunciation feast.
