APOSTOLIC DELEGATION FROM IRAQ REACHES KOCHI
Kochi, INDIA – 29 Sep 2009: An apostolic delegation under the leadership of Archbishop Mor Timotheos Mousa Al Shamani of Nineveh & the abbot of Mor Mattai Dayro, Mosul, Iraq has reached Kochi today to participate in the 324th dukrono of Maphryono ST. BASELIOS YELDHO, the holy father who came to Malankara from Mosul in Iraq three centuries before and died here at the Mar Thoma church (Cheriapally) in Kothamangalam on Kanni 19, AD. 1685.
Besides the archbishop the 18-member delegation from the birth place of the Saint includes Very Rev. Aphrem Corepsicopa, Fr. Kuriakose and Fr. Abdulla Ishai. The delegation also includes the members from the family of the holy father .
The apostolic delegation was received at the Kochi International Airport by Metropolitans Their Eminences Mor Theophilos Kuriakose, Mor Aphrem Mathews and Mor Athanasius Elias, Rev. Fr. Varghese Kallapara, Malankara Church lay Trustee Mr. George Mathew Thekkethalackal, Atmadeepam Chief Editor Mr. C Y Varghese and others.
