In the month of October 2016, His All Holiness Bartholomew I marks the 25th anniversary of his election as the Archbishop of Constantinople, New Rome, and Ecumenical Patriarch. The election to the Patriarchal throne was made on 22nd October 1991.

His All-Holiness Bartholomew is the 270th Archbishop on the Throne of St. Andrew, the Apostle of Jesus Christ. He was installed as the Patriarch of te Great and Holy Church of Constantinople on 2nd November 1991.
