“Greek Orthodox Diaspora in Hungary, 17th – 19th Century” Exhibition, Patras

Historical evidence of the life and action of the flourishing Greek element in Hungary, from the 17th until the 19th century is being displayed at the new Archaeological Museum of Patras. The exhibition started last Friday. The inauguration of the exhibition, titled “Greek Orthodox Diaspora in Hungary, 17th – 19th Century” took place during a special ceremony presented by the Deputy Minister of Culture of the Republic of Hungary, Janos Halasz, while it was attended by the Ambassador of Hungary in Athens Jozsef Toth, the Consul of Hungary in Patras, Nikos Douros, local authority representatives and others.
The exhibition includes luxurious clothing items, paintings, old engravings, lithographs, manuscripts, everyday objects, religious objects, pictures and statues from various museums and private collections in Hungary.
