“2011 YEAR OF ARMENIAN CHILD” DECLARED HIS HOLINESS ARAM I

In a recent Pontifical message addressed to the Diocesan Prelates and the faithful, His Holiness Aram I declared 2011 as the year when Dioceses should give special attention to the problems and concerns related to children and reflect on the ‘UN Covention Rights of the Child’.
During the past decade, Catholicos Aram I has been trying to raise awareness on global issues and their impact on the lives of different members of the community. The year of the child comes soon after the year of women. It is his wish that at the end of the year, there will be a vision statement similar to the one written by the women. Such a statement will help the leadership accompany the children and empower them towards their future responsibilities, because they are the future of the church and the community.
