Serbian Patriarch Celebrated Feast of Saint Stefan with Serbian Army

Belgrade-Serbia: Serbian Patriarch Porfirije on August 01, 2023, celebrated the feast of Saint Stefan Lazarević with the Serbian Army at the Church of the Holy Apostle and Evangelist Mark in Tašmajdan. The feast was also participated by Archbishops Jovan of Šumadija, Hilarion of Timoča, Arsenije of Niš, and military Bishop Dositej of Lipjan. 

From the side of the army and state, Chief of the General Staff General Milan Mojsilović and Miloš Vučević, Minister of Defense and Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia.  The celebratory gathering was graced by the presence of the director of the Security and Information Agency, Mr. Aleksandar Vulin, Minister for Family Care and Demography, Mr. Darija Kisić-Tepavčević, Minister of Health Mr. Danica Grujičić and the Minister of Mining and Energy Mr. Dubravka Đedović, in the prayerful presence of representatives of several services, types, and branches of the Serbian Armed Forces, as well as all military chaplains and assistant military chaplains of the Serbian Armed Forces.

The Church of the Holy Apostle and Evangelist Mark in Belgrade was granted the status of a military temple by the decision of His Holiness the Patriarch, given that there is already an altar dedicated to the Holy Despot Stephen in that church and until the conditions are created for the Army to have a temple dedicated to the Saint in its midst.
