Patriarch Porfirije Received Syriac Archbishop Mor Dioscorus Benjamin of Sweden

Belgrade, Serbia: His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Porfirije met with Archbishop Mor Dioscorus Benjamin Aktaş, the Patriarchal Vicar of the Syriac Orthodox Church in Sweden, on 22nd October 2024 at the Patriarchal Palace in Belgrade.

Archbishop Mor Dioscorus Benjamin Aktaş has long-standing and heartfelt relations with the Serbian Orthodox Church and was awarded the Order of Saint Sava by Patriarch Irinej of Serbia.

This marks his third visit to Belgrade. His Holiness Patriarch Porfirije and Archbishop Benjamin have known each other and collaborated since their student days in Athens, where they studied together at the Faculty of Theology.
