Bulgaria Celebrated Tenth Enthronement Anniversary of Patriarch Neophyte

Sofia-Bulgaria: Bulgaria celebrated the 10th anniversary of the election and enthronement of His Holiness the Bulgarian Patriarch and Metropolitan Neophyte of Sofia.

Thanksgiving service was held at the metropolitan church-chapel “St. Marina” and was led by His Eminence Metropolitan Gregory of Veliko Tarnovo, who was in collaboration with Their Eminences the metropolitans: Gabriel of Lovchan, Nicholas of Plovdiv, John of Varna and Veliko Preslav, Seraphim of Nevrokop, Naum of Ruse, Starozagorsk Cyprian, Grigoriy of Vrachan, Daniil of Vidin and Yakov of Dorostol, His Eminence Bishop Gerasim of Melnysh, Ch. secretary of St. Synod, archim. Basil, archdeacon of St. Sofia Metropolis, and protodeacon Deyan Korunoski.

On February 24, 2013, Sunday, at the Patriarchal Electoral Church Council in Sofia, Metropolitan Neofit of Ruse was elected Bulgarian Patriarch and Metropolitan of Sofia. The enthronement of His Holiness Neophyte as Patriarch of Bulgaria took place on the same day (February 24, 2013) in the afternoon at the St. Alexander Nevsky Church.
