Archimandrite Alexey Consecrated Bishop of Hvostan – Vicar of the Serbian Patriarch

Belgrade-Serbia: Patriarch Porfirije of Serbia consecrated Archimandrite Alexey (Bogićević)/ Aleksej as the Bishop of Hvostan and the Vicar of the Serbian Patriarch on the 13th of November 2022 at the Cathedral of Saint Sava in Belgrade.

The consecration was attended by members of the Serbian holy synod, religious leaders, and faithfuls.

Archimandrite Aleksej was born on March 8, 1955, in the village of Pištan, municipality of Peć, to Ljubomir and Grozdana Bogićević.

Bishop Alexey was elected as vicar of the Serbian Patriarch with the title of Bishop of Hvostan at the Assembly of Bishops that was held in May 2022.
