Patriarch Irinej awarded with the highest distinction of the Georgian Royal Family
16/12/2011 With the patriarchal blessing of His Holiness and Beatitude k.k. Ilia II Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, the Heir to the throne of Georgia and the head of the oldest Orthodox royal dinasty in the world, His Royal Highness Prince Davit Bagrationi-Moukhraneli Batonshvilli of Georgia, yesterday bestowed upon His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch the highest distinction of the famous dinasty – The Royal Order of the Eagle of Georgia and the Seamless Tunic of Our Lord Jesus Christ. Awarding the highest distinction of the Georgian Royal family was performed at the ceremony in the Serbian Patriarchate in the presence of Their Graces vicar Bishops Atanasije of Hvosno and Andrej of Remesiana, as well as members of the Office of the Georgian royal family.
