New York, NY 5/20/2011 In an exceptional action, both chambers of the New York State Legislature have signed letters urging the government of a foreign country to practice greater religious tolerance within its borders. The documents were presented yesterday to Archbishop Demetrios of America, spiritual leader of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America, by the Orthodox legislators who spearheaded the signature drive, Senate Majority Leader Dean Skelos, Senator Mike Gianaris and Assemblywomen Aravella Simotas and Nicole Malliotakis
