Three More Killed in the Ongoing Massacre of Orthodox Tewahedo Christians in Ethiopia

Addis Ababa- Ethiopia: The slaughter of Arsi Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Christians continued in a targeted attack that claimed the lives of three people in the Mitana locality of Sherka District in the Arsi Zone of the Oromia Regional State in the middle of the night on Friday, November 21, 2025. The victims included Batri Kassa, Brehanu Tadu, and Mebratu Batri, while three others were abducted. Those abducted were Solomon Tadu, Gebru Kassa, and Negatu Kassa. The martyred were laid to rest on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at Bethania Saint John’s Church.

Witnesses have stated that the attack took place with the approval of the locality’s administrator, Mr. Kedir Irboshe, and his father, Mr. Irboshe, who frequently entertains the militant group ‘Shene’ at his home which indicates the systemic nature of the persecution. The tally of victims in Oromia—particularly in the Arsi Zone—has reached 36 in just one month.
