OCP Delegate Participates in Enthronement of First Romanian Orthodox Bishop of Ireland and Iceland

Dublin – Ireland: His Grace Bishop Nectarie Petre was enthroned as the first Romanian Orthodox Bishop of Ireland and Iceland at the Saint Columba Church of the Dublin II Parish on 11th January 2025.

The enthronement ceremony was attended by several high-ranking dignitaries, including His Eminence Metropolitan Iosif, head of the Metropolis of Western and Southern Europe, and His Eminence Hon Metropolitan Nifon, Archbishop of Târgoviște and Patriarchal Exarch, representing Patriarch Daniel. Hierarchs from other local churches also took part in the enthronement.

Mr. John Mathew, Director of the Department of External Relations, represented the Orthodoxy Cognate PAGE (OCP) Society at the enthronement ceremony of Bishop Nectarie Petre. On behalf of OCP Society, Mr. Mathew conveyed warm felicitations and best wishes to the newly enthroned Bishop.

This significant event marks a new chapter in the history of the Romanian Orthodox Church in Ireland and Iceland, and OCP Society extends its heartfelt congratulations to Bishop Nectarie Petre and the entire Romanian Orthodox community.
