Aaron Charles, Demand Media 9/2/13 Early Christianity and orthodoxy are somewhat similar, but aren’t necessarily interchangeable concepts. The word “orthodox” comes from the Greek words “orthos” (right) and “doxa” (belief) — or “right belief.” Today, orthodox Christians fall basically into the groups of Eastern Orthodox and Oriental Orthodox traditions that have adherents worldwide. Although there are parallels between the Orthodox Church’s beliefs and those of early Christianity, such as repentance and faith in Jesus, there are some divergences, too
