UOC Celebrated Eight Enthronement Anniversary of Metropolitan Onuphry of Kyiv and All Ukraine

Kyiv – Ukraine: Eight (8) enthronement anniversary of its primate His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry of Kyiv and All Ukraine was held at the main square of the Assumption Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra on 17 August 2022. Celebrations were attended by members of UOC synod members, priests, monks, nuns, and many faithful.
According to UOJ,” the participants prayed for peace on the Ukrainian land, for deliverance from the enemy, for the Lord to look down on the Ukrainian people and save those who are in despair and lost their homes, for the blessing of God’s people of goodwill who help those in need. The Primate asked God to bestow His mercy onto the Ukrainian nation, to bring the authorities to reason, to strengthen the warriors with courage, to free the captives, to heal the sick, and give shelter to those who have lost their homes”.
On the auspicious occasion of anniversary celebrations, His Beatitude raised a number of UOC bishops to the rank of Metropolitan and Archbishop.
Archbishops became Metropolitans: Konotopskyi and Glukhivskyi Roman, Voznesenskyi and Pervomaiskyi Oleksiy, Oleksandriiskyi and Svitlovodskyi Bogolep. The following Bishops were elevated to the rank of Archbishop: Veniamin of Khotyn, Viktor of Baryshiv, Sylvester of Belohorod, Serhiy of Ladyzhyn, and Pymen of Rivne and Ostroh.
