Moscow – Russia: In his recent Nativity-Christmas interview with Rossia TV, Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, stated that he always prays for the Patriarch of Constantinople being consciously aware of how hard it is for the Patriarch to fulfil his ministry being stationed in Turkey.

The Primate of the Russian Church commented the schism in Ukraine was a crime committed by Phanar (Constantinople). However, Patriarch Bartholomew acted wrongly as he was under pressure from formidable political forces of certain superpower nations. “Their intention remains nothing but to tear the Russian Church away from the Orthodox Christians of Greece, the Arab world, and the Middle East so that Orthodoxy itself would become weaker” stated Patriarch Kirill.

The full text of the interview in English is available here.

In the interview, the Patriarch also spoke on the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and on the political and religious situation in Artsakh (Karabakh) and in Belarus. He was interviewed by Andrei Kondrashov, who is the political analyst of the Russian All-State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company and anchor of the  Vesti news program.
