Returning the Sarajevo University Economic faculty building to the Serb Orthodox Church

High Representative and EU Special Representative, Valentin Inzko, and Principal Deputy High Representative, Raffi Gregorian, called for a working meting with FBiH Vice President Mirsad Kebo, FBiH Prime Minister Mustafa Mujezinovic, FBiH Education Minister Meliha Alic, Sarajevo Canton Prime Minister Besim Mehmedic, cantonal Minister of Education, Safet Keso, Mayor of Stari Grad Municipality Ibrahim Hadzibajric and Rector of Sarajevo University Faruk Čaklovica who hosted a meeting in Rectors Office and representatives of Economics Faculty to discuss modalities of returning the Sarajevo University Economic faculty building to the Serb Orthodox Church.

It was agreed to give first priority to securing a new facility to the Economics faculty in order to allow the Serb Orthodox Church Seminary to be restored in the absence of the BiH Law on Restitution. FBiH and Canton Sarajevo officials agreed to initiate basic funding for the preliminary design of new faculty premises in their 2010 budgets. All government officials agreed to sign in the near future a declaration setting forth their commitment to bring this issue to a successful resolution. Participants were informed about the need to also find a solution for the Electric Engineering Faculty of Sarajevo University.
