New Publication – Armenian Diocese of New Nakhichevan and Bessarabia

With the blessings of His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catolicos of All Armenians; the Publishing Department of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin has published the monograph “Armenian Diocese of New Nakhichevan and Bessarabia” by Archimandrite Sahak Shakaryan; a monk of the Brotherhood of Holy Etchmiadzin.
The book presents the occurrence of Armenian colonies on the territory of Bessarabia, construction of churches, and the activities of different ecclesiastical and parish institutions at the centennial history, using archival documents, periodical press and a comprehensive examination of historical literature, which covers the period of 1812-1920. In his work, particular reference is made to Bessarabia Diocesan Primates and activities of prominent figures. The author has also examined the general situation of Etchmiadzin-belonging estates, and issues related to the operation quantity in the Diocese territory.
The book is published by the benevolent sponsorship of the benefactor of the Mother See, Mr. Sarkis Gabrellian.
