MESSAGE OF HIS HOLINESS KAREKIN II,
SUPREME PATRIARCH AND CATHOLICOS OF ALL ARMENIANS,
ON THE COMMEMORATION DAY OF VICTORY AND PEACE
AND THE LIBERATION OF SHUSHI
From the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, we extend our Pontifical blessings and congratulations to our faithful people on the occasion of the day of the glorious victory of May 9 and the Liberation of Shushi.
We welcome the glorious wonder of May 9 with the hope of new life in our homeland and of our people, and bright aspirations and desires of the realization of our nation.
On this day 70 years ago, the good news of peace was heard throughout the world, filling our people’s spirits with joy and light, who had heroically participated in the struggle against fascism. The Artsakh Liberation War was founded on the same patriotic and intrepid spirit and was crowned with victory, becoming the new page of heroic and glorious victories in our history.
On this festive day, we pray that the Almighty God keeps our native land under His peaceful grace and blesses our God-loving people, granting them a secure and prosperous life.
May our Lord Jesus Christ’s grace and peace be with us all. Amen.
