‘Church of Maradona’ Opens in Mexico

Mexico – A Church in honour of the great football legend Maradona has opened its door in the Mexican city of San Andres Cholula, in Puebla state on the 14th of July 2021. The interior of the Church is filled with photos of the legendary footballer. The so-called Station of Cross is recreated with photos of Maradona.
This is Mexicos first Mardonain Chruch. However, the ‘Mardonian’ religion (Iglesia Maradoniana ) is so popular that it has more than half a million followers worldwide. The Church was founded on the 30th of October 30, 1998, in the city of Rosario, Argentina by three fans.
