The service that was attended by the first family was organised to place President Paul Biya’s new mandate under the protection of God almighty.
The clergy, Imans, Christians and Muslims gathered at the Mary Queen of Victory Metropolitan cathedral and put their voices together to pray and peace, prosperity and development in Cameroon during the new mandate of the Head of State.
The metropolitan Archbishop of Yaounde who presided over the inter-religious celebration called on the almighty to guide the Head of State and endow him with divine wisdom as he pilots the affairs of the state.
The Council of Imams in the same light also called for blessings from Heaven and protecting from Allah to guide Cameroon and her leaders.
Representatives of other shads of opinion, including the Orthodox and the Protestants also took turns on the pulpit to prayer for the fatherland and for people in authority, that they may shorn corrupt practices in order to propel the country to emergence as enshrined in the Head of State’s 2035 vision.
