It includes the Russian Orthodox populations of the former Soviet republics in Central Asia, the Syrian Orthodox and the Indian Orthodox of Kerala, India and the Armenian Orthodox in the former Soviet republics, India and Iran. The essay is one of the specialist essays of Volume 3 of the Edinburgh Companions to Global Christianity dedicated to South and Central Asia, published in April 2019. Her\u00a0\u00a0Ph.D. project was an interdisciplinary study of conjugal abuse realities and attitudes in the Ethiopian Orthodox T\u00e4wah\u04d9do community of Aksum in Northern Ethiopia.
