‘Priesthood in the Church Reserved Only for Men’ Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria

Cairo-Egypt: Priesthood in the Church is an exclusive right of men according to Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria, reports fides.org. Pope Tawadros II commented the same in an interview broadcasted by the State Egyptian Television on the 7th of January 2022.

The Pope further stated that priesthood is reserved for men only. This is in  accordance to the words of Jesus Christ who chose Apostles from men around him. Various roles in the Church cannot be equated with worldly models of rights and duties, he added.
